Oct. 7, 2016A University Police Officer conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle near the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Morewood. The driver was found to be intoxicated and was placed under arrest for DUI.

Students successfully lead initiative to increase the student minimum wage to $7.75 per hour
Recently, Provost Farnam Jahanian sent an email to the Carnegie Mellon Community to announce the newly implemented increase to the student minimum wage. Implemented on Oct. 17, the new minimum wage increased from $7.25 to $7.75 an hour. Provost Jahanian mentioned that this $0.50 increase originally began "as a student-led proposal." Alcohol Amnesty
Oct. 1, 2016University Police responded to Donnor House, Mudge House, Margaret Morrison Street, and Forbes Avenue in response to reports of two intoxicated females and two intoxicated males. Four Carnegie Mellon students were provided with medical attention. Amnesty applied and no citations were issued.

Suspicious Person/Underage Drinking
Sept. 23, 2016An intoxicated male student was reportedly screaming and pounding on several apartment doors at Margaret Morrison Apartments. University Police made contact with the Carnegie Mellon student and provided him with medical attention. He was issued a citation for underage drinking.
