    Underage Drinking

    University Police cited a University of Pittsburgh student for underage drinking at the corner of Forbes Avenue and Beeler Street. A security guard noticed the intoxicated student and requested assistance. The male was transported to a hospital for further treatment after CMU EMS deemed transport necessary.

  • Peter Masters steps down from SBVP role

    Peter Masters, junior international relations and politics and philosophy double major, resigned from his position as student body vice president for the fall semester, citing personal reasons.

    Masters said that he needs to “take a step back and take care of [himself] a little bit.” He will be taking a leave of absence for the spring semester.

    Pittsburgh’s 2013 mayoral election between Democrat nominee Bill Peduto and Republican nominee Josh Wander takes place tomorrow.

    Current mayor Luke Ravenstahl, announced his decision not to run for re-election last March, and has become less and less prominent in his role as mayor since then.

    Theft from Vehicle
    Oct. 19, 2013

    University Police were summoned to the Dithridge Street Garage just after 3 p.m. for a report of theft from a vehicle. The victim of stated that his black laptop satchel was stolen from a car, and the car’s passenger side window was smashed. This investigation is ongoing.
