Driving Under the Influence
April 14, 2019
Officers observed an erratic vehicle drive through a red light at a high speed at the intersection of Forbes Avenue and South Craig Street, initiating a traffic stop. The driver, a non-affiliate of Carnegie Mellon, appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol as well as traffic-related offenses.

Officers responded to the Tepper Quadrangle after fraudulent charges appeared on a Carnegie Mellon student’s DineXtra Account. The investigation is ongoing.

Burglary
April 15, 2019
Officers responded to the Cohon University Center after hearing reports of theft. A Carnegie Mellon student reported that an unspecified amount of money was stolen from a secured club space. The investigation is ongoing.

Theft of a Bicycle
April 15, 2019
Officers responded to the Mellon Institute after a Carnegie Mellon student reported that their bicycle was taken from a bicycle rack located near the Bellfield Street entrance.

Theft by Deception
April 19, 2019
Officers responded to Fairfax Apartments, a Carnegie Mellon leased property, for a report of an internet scam. A Carnegie Mellon student reported that they received an email to participate in a research focus group, which requested gift cards be sent.

Driving Under the Influence
April 20, 2019
Officers observed a vehicle at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and South Craig Street remain at the traffic light for an entire cycle after the light turned green. Officers initiated a traffic stop, noting that the driver, a non-affiliate of Carnegie Mellon, appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, as well as traffic-related offenses.
