Noise Complaint

at 2:23 a.m.

A Woodlawn Apartments resident called University Police reporting excessive noise coming from Spirit House. University Police arrived on the scene and found about 45 students outside. University Police urged the group to quiet down and the group quickly dispersed.

Vehicle Damage
Aug. 25, 2008
at 2:07 p.m.

A Carnegie Mellon employee reported damage done to his car parked near Wean Hall. The damage was believed to be caused by plywood from construction.

Fire Alarm
Aug. 26, 2008
at 1:26 p.m.

A fire alarm sounded in Porter Hall. Baker and Porter halls were both immediately evacuated. The Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire was notified. They arrived on the scene and were notified by Facilities Management Services that construction workers sanding had most likely caused the alarm. The scene was cleared and the alarm was reset.

A Carnegie Mellon employee reported a large white male selling eight framed, boxed photos on the third floor of Baker Hall. The man had told the employee that he was selling them because the university wanted to get rid of them. University Police checked Porter and Baker halls but could not find him.

A Carnegie Mellon employee called University Police reporting an average height, black male watching pornographic material in a computer cluster on the first floor of Baker Hall. The employee had been working in the area and returned to find that this man had locked the lab door and was watching pornographic material. After she unlocked the door, the male grabbed a large box next to him and ran away.

Vehicle Damage

at 6:42 p.m.

A Carnegie Mellon shuttle driver notified University Police when he drove one of the shuttles into a pole. The damage was not severe and was contained to the front of the vehicle. No one was hurt.

A Hunt Library employee reported damage done to a bookcase shelf on the building’s first floor.
