Fire Alarm
Sept. 5, 2008
at 10:48 a.m.
A fire alarm sounded in Doherty Hall on the building’s fourth floor. The Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire arrived and found the cause to be a contractor drilling and cutting on the fourth floor. They cleared the area and reset the alarm.
Theft Sept. 6, 2008 at 10:40 p.m.
A student reported her bag stolen from the first-floor atrium of the University Center. She had left it unattended for a moment and returned to find it missing. The bag has not yet been found.
Theft Sept. 7, 2008 at 2:18 p.m.
A student called University Police to tell them that her bike had been stolen from the bike rack in front of Hamerschlag Hall. She believed it to have been stolen sometime the day before. She had locked it but has not yet found the bike or the lock.
Theft Sept. 8, 2008 at 9:04 a.m.
A student lost her wallet in a classroom on the first floor of the Tepper School of Business. She was worried because it contained her bank card and Carnegie Mellon ID. The wallet was found later that day in a locked desk where the student had placed it.
Fire Alarm Sept. 10, 2008 at 8:55 a.m.
A fire alarm sounded in Resnik House. Students evacuated the building until the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire arrived on the scene and cleared it for re-entrance.
Theft Sept. 11, 2008 at 1:09 a.m.
A student working at the desk in West Wing called University Police when a resident reported to her that the overhead projector had been removed from the television lounge. The resident believed the theft to have happened during the previous night.
Theft Sept. 11, 2008 at 9:51 a.m.
A student reported that a very large digital camera had been removed from the second-floor atrium of the University Center. He did not know the actor and has yet to find the camera.
Odor of Smoke Sept. 11, 2008 at 11:17 a.m.
A group of students in Doherty Hall called University Police when they smelled smoke on the building’s second floor, closer to Wean Hall. The area was quickly cleared by an officer on scene.
