Persepolis
8 10 12
Nominated for an Oscar in Best Foreign Film last year, Persepolis is a unique French film about an Iranian girl growing up during the Islamic Revolution. Told in flashes, the movie is done in black-and-white 2-D animation, which only serves to make the autobiographical Persian Gulf story more poignant. It’s a good film for cinema lovers but a bad film for relaxing and acting stupid before exams start.

Be Kind Rewind
8 10 12
Mos Def runs a video store. Jack Black’s head becomes magnetized and erases all the tapes. Now, to save the store and entertain their customers, the two make low-budget, crappy interpretations of major movies. People find it funny. People ask for more. The two get in trouble. The film is fairly funny, probably a little cheesy, and did only semi-okay in the box office. You decide.

Cloverfield
8:15 10 11:45
“OMG! What is it? What is it? OMG OMG OMG!” Things get torn apart, people run around freaking out Blair Witch style, and an alien/dinosaur/whatever thing destroys New York City. In the end, people shoot at it with lots of bombs and big missiles, and then the audience goes home and draws lots of pictures of said monster destroying various hometowns.
