85 Carnegie Mellon scholar-athletes honors by UAA

Carnegie Mellon’s athletic department announced that 85 Carnegie Mellon scholar-athletes were named to the University Athletic Association’s (UAA) All-Academic Recognition list for the fall sports teams. This included 10 students from women’s cross country, 13 from men’s cross country, 37 from football, nine from women’s soccer, nine from men’s soccer, and seven from volleyball. Eligible sholar-athletes eligible must have completed at least one full year of college study and carry a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.3. Carnegie Mellon’s athletes were among 498 total UAA scholar-athletes who represent teams in three men’s and three women’s UAA fall sports. The Tartans make up 17 percent of all honorees, placing them above the expected average of 12.5 percent amongst the eight schools that compete in the UAA conference.
