Shinobi: Heart Under Blade Thursday, Dec. 4 10 12

Based on the novel The Kouga Ninja Scrolls by Futaro Yamada, this action-packed Japanese romance ninjutsu movie tells the story of the two opposing ninja clans, Iga and Koga, and the love story of Kouga, a member of the Koga clan, and Oboro who is an Iga. Both clans, who live hidden in the woods and mountains of Japan, are demanded by their ruler, Lord Hattori Hanzou, to end their feud that he fears could lead to unrest in his lands — all the while scheming to destroy each clan’s best warriors.

It’s that time again! The time-honored tradition of showing a TBA film instead of a regular dollar movie continues. Take a much-needed break before finals and check out this movie. It’ll be sure to arouse some excitement.

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back Saturday, Dec. 6 8 10 12

The 2001 Clerks spin-off, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, sees Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith return as Jay and Silent Bob, as they undertake a mission to save their “good names.” When the friends discover that a movie that is being made about two comic characters that are based on them is receiving negative feedback online, they decide to go to Hollywood to stop the movie from being made, or, if that fails, to demand some royalties. This is a popular movie choice for Kevin Smith fans, with cameo appearances from Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Alanis Morissette to name but a few.

Super Mario Bros. Sunday, Dec. 7th 8 10 12

It’s Brooklyn, N.Y., and two plumbers, Italian-American brothers Mario and Luigi, are being forced out of their jobs. After Luigi falls in love with an orphaned college student, Daisy, the two find themselves in somewhat unusual circumstances. It is now Dinohattan, a parallel world where the inhabitants evolved from dinosaurs, and the two brothers are trying to save planet Earth. An action-packed comedy following the adventures of our two favorite video game boys. Nostalgia, anyone?
