Amount of chocolate eaten per year by the average American: 10–12 pounds

Proportion of Americans who snack two to three times a day: 50 percent

Proportion of eight-year-olds who consume soda every day: 56 percent

Average number of pizzas sold in the U.S. each year: 3 billion

Average number of hot dogs eaten in the U.S. between Labor Day and Memorial Day: 7 billion

Average number of pounds of potato chips eaten by Americans during the Super Bowl: 11 million
